2 CEs, 2 SEs, 12 XEN's found absent during surprise check in Irrigation Department offices
Chandigarh, November 4, 2014: Two Chief Engineers, 2 Superintending Engineers, 12 XEN's, 20 Other Class-I Officers, 126 Class-III And 71 Class-IV Employees were found absent during a surprise check carried by Kahan Singh Pannu, IAS, Secretary Irrigation today. This check was carried in different offices of Chief Engineers of the Department of Irrigation, Government of Punjab at Chandigarh and Mohali, today.
Disclosing this here today, Pannu informed that the raid was conducted by constituting ten teams at 9.15 am with a view to check the attendance of the officers and employees. He informed that during the course of raid, 2 Chief Engineers, 2 Superintending Engineers , 12 XEN's and 20 other Class-I officers, 126 Class III and 71 Class IV employees were found absent.
Kahan Singh Pannu strictly directed the employees and officers to maintain punctuality in office timings failing which strict action shall be taken against them. Pannu informed that competent authorities in the Department have been directed to take necessary action against those who have been found absent from their offices during the raid.
He further said that such surprise checks would be a routine feature and all the staff of Department of Irrigation should report to offices on time, failing which strict action would be taken against them.
