18 State advisory committees of Punjab Vidhan Sabha reconstituted

Chandigarh, October 11, 2014: The Punjab Government has notified the reconstituted state advisory committees of 18 different departments to advise the government in framing and executing policies of respected departments.
Stating this, a spokesperson of the govt. said that Chief Minister would be chairing the state advisory committee dealing with Personnel, General Administration, Co-Operation, Science and Technology, Environment, Vigilance, Civil Aviation and Justice Departments. The Chief Minister would also be the Chairman of the state advisory committee of Agriculture And Non-Resident Indian Affairs Departments. The committee would have 10 MLAs as non official members and concerned administrative secretaries as official members.
He said that Deputy Chief Minister will be the Chairman of the SAC of the departments of Home, Governance Reforms, Housing And Urban Development, Excise and Taxation, Investment Promotion, Sports and Youth Affairs and Power. The committee would have 10 MLAs 5 from SAD 3 from INC, one BJP and one independent as non official member and respective administrative secretary as official members. Similarly in committees of other 16 departments respective ministers would be heading the committee with each committee having 10 MLAs as non official member and respective administrative secretaries as official members.
