18 state advisory committees constituted in Punjab

Chandigarh, September 17, 2014: In order to streamline the day to day functioning of the state government by formulating the people-oriented policies and implementing them in an effective manner besides advising the state government on important issues of public interest, the Punjab government has constituted 18 State Advisory Committees comprising of the MLA s of all the parties for 2014-15.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal cleared the file in this regard.   The tenure of these committees would be till March 31, 2015 or the validity of current state assembly from the period of issuing of notification regarding them, whichever was earlier.  
The Spokesperson further said that the Punjab government could at any point of time change the membership, name and constitution of committee besides even reconstituting it.  It would be mandatory for the committee to meet once within three months and one meeting of the committee would be held during the session of state assembly and one meeting must be convened between the two sessions of the assembly.   The headquarters of these committees would be Chandigarh and the prescribed quorum for these meetings would be four members.
Giving the details regarding the committees, the spokesperson further said that these committees would comprise of official and non-official members.  List of these committees are as follow:-
