173,975 Students To Take TET Exam, All Arrangements In Place

Chandigarh, December 12, 2015: The Punjab State Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) is going to be conducted by the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) on 13th December. All the arrangements regarding the smooth conduct of the examination have been put in place by the Education Department. Disclosing this, the Education Minister, Punjab, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema said that a total if 1,73, 975 candidates would take the test in 326 exam centres throughout the state. He also said that all centres would be videographed in order to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the examination.
The Minister said that instructions issued to all District Civil and Police Officials to ensure the security and amicable atmosphere around the examination centres so that the students could appear in the test without any external pressure and fear. He said that the state government has resolved to conduct the test in transparent and objective manner. He said that out of the total 1,73,975 students 39595 students would appear in TET-1 and 1,34,780 students appear in TET-2 examination.
He said that the duration of each test is 2 hours and 30 minutes but specially abled students would be given 50 minutes extra. The minister said that to ensure the transparency and fare conduct in the examination the students have been prohibited to carry pen and wrist watches with them. He said that wall clocks would be installed in all the examination centres. Students could only carry roll no.
Dr Cheema further divulged that videography of all centres would be conducted. He said that the Punjab School Education Board has established a toll free no 82874-47722 for all types of enquiries concerning TET. He said that if any person/coaching centre claims to help in passing this test then immediately bring this into the notice of police of your district.
