Jalandhar, October 2, 2015: Punjab Revenue & Public Relations Minister Mr.Bikram Singh Majithia today said that new initiatives in the form of 168 helpline and E stamping have resulted in more transparency and accountability in the Revenue department at the bottom level  as both these steps have empowered  the common man in a big way.
Presiding over here a function organized by the Ram Naumi Utsav Committee for disbursing scholarships to students, the Minister said that the after making the whole land record of the state online, this path breaking initiative was fully aimed bring transparency besides information on land records on the finger tips of every individual around the globe by launching a most comprehensive 24x7 helpline.
This helpline has been divided in three parts as in first part one can seek information regarding land records and registration of deed. In the second part, anyone by simply making a phone call get latest information/update regarding various cases in Revenue department, information regarding solutions to problems being faced with Revenue department besides latest information about the mutation, transfer of khasra girdawri & demarcation of land. Similarly, in third part one can register his complaint regarding Revenue department and any Revenue officer. Inquiry/Status/Complaint will be registered and unique number will be provided to the caller. The helpline was available between 7.00 am to 7.00 pm and for NRI complainants, it will be available round the clock, he added.
Talking about the outcome of E-stamping, he said that this decision has resulted in cost savings and user friendly as the authenticity of   e-stamps certificates could be checked any time anywhere. Replying to a question about the membership drive of Youth Akali Dal, Mr. Majithia said that these drive has received a huge response and the whole process was fully transparent as the track record, full address verification of the members to be included in the Youth Akali Dal were being verified.
Hailing the role of Ram Naumi Utsav Committee for social welfare, he also announced a grant of Rs. 5 Lakh for the student welfare to the Ram Naumi Committee.
 
Later on the Cabinet Ministers Mr. Chunni Lal Bhagat, Sikander Singh Maluka, Sohan Singhd Thandal , CPS K.D. Bhnadari and Pawan Kumar Tinnu, MP Avinash Rai Khanna, Advisor to Chief Minister Tikshan Sood, BJP President Kamal Sharma have also attended the function.
Prominent amongst present President CPS Pawan Kumar Tinnu,  Ram Naumi Utsav Committee Vijay Chopra, Master Mohan Lal Former Minister , Youth Akali Dal President Doaba Zone Sarbjot Singh Sabhi, District Planning Committee Chairman Gurcharan Singh Channi, Parminder Brar, IT Incharge, former Improvement trust chairman Baljit Singh Neela Mahal  and ADC (D) Kumar Amit.
