Ludhiana, May 18, 2015: To create synergies and facilitate the creation of collaborations between EU and Indian innovators in energy, environment and transport, Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) India is organising a unique B2B event during the Smart Cities India 2015 Expo (20-22 May 2015, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi). This matchmaking event will witness over 150 representatives from likeminded organisations in India and Europe connect during this three day affair.
The event is a collaborative effort by the EEN India consortium led by the European Business and Technology Centre (EBTC), and partners Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Global Innovation & Technology Alliance (GITA), Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) and the Steinbeis India Centre.
Mr. Poul V. Jensen (Director, EBTC) asserts that “this is a very special opportunity for Indian actors to connect with European technology owners and other organisations who have come to India with the sole purpose of creating partnerships with India – be it Government, innovators, organisations, research institutions – to share solutions and exchange experiences. Areas of expertise include smart buildings, future cities concepts, integrated PV, water treatment, MSW, energy storage and efficiency, and more! The EEN platform opens doors for Indian SME’s to access and explore a global network of technologies from more than 50 countries.”
Mr. Anjan Das (Executive Director, CII) stated that “the event is very timely in view of the momentum created by recent campaigns by the Government of India such as Smart Cities, Clean India, Make in India and Digital India. The event is ideal to strengthen and support Indian MSME’s in technology – vital to achieve the ambitions of these campaign.” In addition to this, Mr. Sabyasachi Dasmohapatra (CEO, GITA) expressed that “GITA is shortly going to launch the next round of Request for Proposals (RFP) under the bilateral industrial R&D programme in which funding support is available for R&D projects with UK, Spain and Finland. Focus areas include smart cities; clean energy; affordable healthcare; water management, ICT and advanced manufacturing. GITA is also implementing the INNO INDIGO Project as part of a consortium of European and Indian organisations.”
Steinbeis Centre For Technology Transfer India stated that “this event will also fill the gap between companies and experts to work together and provide solutions towards Urban Infrastructure Development – a fundamental component of smart cities, and we will be supporting Indian organisations with our pool of European Experts at the event”. Mr. Ajay Sahai (Director General & CEO, FIEO) is optimistic about the event which “presents a unique opportunity for visiting delegates from the EU, and is a vital event for Indian participants, as the event will bring together the best and most innovative technology, solution providers, integrators and businessmen. There is a crucial role for all to play in furthering India’s ambitious campaigns.”
