Ferozepur, February 24, 2019: Ferozepur police have recovered 14.5 kg heroin worth Rs.68 crore in the international market in a joint operation with the Border Security Force.
Addressing a press conference, M S Chinna, IG Ferozepur Range said that at a naka bandi today morning, 600 gm heroin was recovered from a noted drug smuggler Saraj Singh along with a Maruti car.
The IG said that during the preliminary investigation, Saraj Singh admitted that a consignment of 12 Kg 50 gm heroin has been sent by the Pakistan smuggler Azooba. During the search operation, 12Kg 50 gm heroine was recovered from the area of DRD Nath BOP Pillar No.215/3. Another 1 kg heroin was also recovered from village Tahli in Tara Taran and the total recovery was 14 kg 650 gm.
IGP said, Saraj Singh is already facing three cases of heroin smuggling. To crack the further supplies on the border, further investigations are on.
