10th SESSION OF DISTINGUISHED GLOBAL INDIAN SPEAKER SERIES HELD AT AMITY UNIVERSITY
Amity University Haryana, Gurugram (AUH) felicitated the Prof. (Dr) Bhaskar Chakravorti, Professor and Dean of Global Business, Chair, Council on Emerging Market Enterprise (CEME), The Fletcher School, Tufts University, USA at a glittering function organized on 16th January, 2019 for his distinguished contribution in the area of international business & new venture formation at this occasion. ‘Digitalisation is inevitable’ he says. Delivering a special talk on ‘Can Digital India Get Past the Real India? India’s Prospects in the New World Order’ in his address to the students Prof Chakravorti said, “How Digital India, on paper, is poised to grow into a global force - it could potentially jump ahead in the new world order in ways unimaginable by the "real" India. The number of internet users in India and China surpasses the aggregate of internet users across 37 of the richest countries combined. This means India could, in principle, be one of the largest repositories of a key ingredient that powers the future: data.” He also emphasized that there are a billion-plus people on a unique ID system. The private sector at home and abroad sees India as the hottest market for all things digital added Prof Chakravorti. He was felicitated by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof P B Sharma, Prof Gunjan M Sanjeev, Vice President, RBEF and Director – International Affairs, Dean Student Welfare Maj Gen G S Bal (Retd.) along with other dignitaries and Head of Institutions. The “Distinguished Global Indian Speaker Series” were instituted on 9th July,2014 following the vision of our Hon’ble Chancellor Dr Aseem Chauhan. This series recognize an honor distinguished global Indian academicians who have reached exemplary heights in their field of expertise and have achieved excellence of highest order in their profession. While their fame and accolades resonate across the world, they continue to have their roots firm back in India. “Our forefathers believed that world is a one family and with the invent of digitalization it is possible that with just one click we are connected globally. Young generation has to understand that we have to make our mother land the best place to live on earth.
