New Delhi, November 12, 2015: Factors such as a shift in demand towards value added bitumen products, preference being given to cement over bitumen in road construction in countries like India, and additional usages emerging for the crude byproduct have dramatically affected the outlook of Bitumen market in Asia.
What are the challenges and conversely the opportunities emerging in the Bitumen market in Asia? Are producers, suppliers and refineries in the world’s largest continent prepared to adapt to the changing needs of the market?
Experts from as many as 20 countries across Asia will come together in Delhi this month to discuss these pertinent questions and find answers to them at the Tenth Asian Bitumen Conference 2015 (AsB 2015), at Taj Palace on 23-24 November 2015, organized by Conference Connection and supported by Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Govt. of India.
Following the success of AsB 2004 - 2013 which attracted over 1500 participants from over 30 countries worldwide, AsB 2015 will continue to provide insights into the changing Bitumen market picture and the resultant new challenges and opportunities facing the industry. The mega Asian conference is being held in India for the first time in its 10 year history.
Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, India will make the Inaugural Address while other experts will provide insights into new challenges and opportunities offered by the emerging Asian bitumen market as well as the latest market trends and technical developments in the bitumen industry.
“Global bitumen demand is expected to reach 122 million tons in 2018 and the increasing road construction activities in the fast growing markets of China and India are expected to drive the growth of the bitumen market in Asia. India’s bitumen consumption will outpace production in the coming years as demand is expected to accelerate. Bitumen trade in the country has picked up significantly in recent months, with more volumes being imported and exported from the country.
