Ludhiana, July 20, 2014: In a bid to check mother child mortality rate during delivery by providing ultra modern facilities to the pregnant women of Ludhiana and adjoining areas, the upcoming 100 bedded district level Mother Child Care Hospital would be soon dedicated to the nation.
Divulging the details the Deputy Commissioner Rajat Aggarwal said that Hospital, coming up at a cost of Rs 16.61 crore, was a part of the state government’s ambitious project of imparting quality healthcare facilities to the people. He said that with the operationalisation of this hospital the pregnant women would be able to avail quality Healthcare services as they would not have to rush to private hospitals, in case of any emergency. Rajat Aggarwal further said that with the commissioning of this hospital, healthcare facilities in the district would get a major fillip.
The Deputy Commissioner further said that as per the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, this hospital would be fully air-conditioned and Punjab Health Systems Corporation would manage this hospital by deploying specialist Gynaecologists and Paediatric doctors. He further said that 95 percent of the construction work of hospital has been completed and the remaining one would be finished soon. He said that the unique feature of this hospital was that pregnant women would be able to avail free health care services before and after delivery for one year adding he said that in case of female child health care facility would be provided for five years.
Likewise, the Deputy Commissioner said that the hospital would be well equipped with ultra modern technology to conduct all kinds of tests, x-rays, scans, ultrasound etc. on very reasonable rates. Besides, he said that, this hospital would also have Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU), which would be instrumental in reducing mother child mortality rate during delivery. Moreover he said that, in the hospital, there would be provision of private rooms, seminar hall, library, waiting hall, food court, internet, fax and clean Fruit shops. “With the operationalisation of this hospital the Civil Hospital, Ludhiana will get relief from the burden of heavy work load of deliveries and all referral cases will be adjusted in new Mother Child Care Hospital” he added./ludhiana news, punjab news, india news
