1 woman among 2 inter-state smugglers arrested with opium

Ferozepur, September 25, 2012 :  The Makhu police team headed by Gurpreet Singh, Station House Officer (SHO) have arrested two alleged inter-state smugglers and recovered one Kg opium from them, said Varinder Pal Singh, SSP, Ferozepur.

He informed that out of the two arrested smugglers, one is women, resident of Makhu and the other smuggler is from Rajasthan.

He further informed that under instructions of DSP, Zira, the police party have started the checking operation of suspicious nature persons by putting up a naka, near village Padhri and on searching of interception of a man and women, 500 gm each opium was recovered from their possession.

SHO Gurpreet Singh informed that both the smugglers were arrested alongwith 1 kg opium and on preliminary investigation, they disclosed their names as Moti Lal son of Paaju Ram of Maharana Partap Road , Patli (Rajasthan) and Amarjit Kaur of Makhu.

The Makhu police station have registered a case against both the arrested  under the NDPS Act.

Further police investigations have been started.
