“E Mere Watan Ke Logo…..”

Ferozepur, August 16, 2012 : Youth Fist Welfare Society (YFWS) in collaboration with Streamline Welfare Society (SWS), Ferozepur celebrated 66th Independence Day at Home for the Blinds, Ferozepur with blind inmates.

Speaking on the occasion, Gaurav, President, YFWS, said that the Independence Day was a moment of delight and grandeur but to achieve it the nation had to put up a long battle for over two centuries against the British Empire. He added the day reminded them of those patriots who fought and suffered to win freedom for them.  It was their duty to maintain it with their dedication and devotion towards the nation by showing the real patriotism, he said.

Diwan Chand, President, SWS congratulated all on this auspicious day and appreciated the projects under taken by YFWS to help the needy class in the society and to make people aware to come forward to eradicate the social evils.

Speaking on the occasion, Harish Kumar, Hony. Assistant Secretary of Home for the Blind thanked the NGOs for visiting the institution and desired that  all the citizens must  keep in this mind the Home for the Blinds while donating as this institution was running on volunteer donations as the grant from the government was very meager to meet out the day to day expenses.  He appealed to the young generation studying in schools and colleges in Ferozepur to donate Rs.1 per month per student and with this amount the institution could take better take care of the inmates more comfortably.

A cultural programme was also arranged by the blind inmates by reciting the patriotic song – “E Mere Watan Ke Logo, Jara Aaankh Mein Bhar Lo Pani...."
