Workshop on Use of Software Technology inaugurated at GNDU

Amritsar, January 16, 2015: A "Workshop on the Use of Software Technology for Ph.D./Post Doctoral Scholars/Research Scholars/Teaching Faculty" was inaugurated on Friday at  GNDU . As many as 40 teachers and Research Scholars from Punjab and the other states of the country are participating. B.R.Batra, Former Director, UGC-Academic Staff College of the University was the Chief Guest.
 
Batra in his inaugural address shed light on the drastic transformation of human life brought about by the unprecedented advancements in the field of Software Technology over the last few decades. He said that Software Technology has become an indispensable part of every aspect of human life. The use of Software Technology has transcended all the barriers and has intruded into all the disciplines. He exhorted the participants to make use of this opportunity to get acquainted with the diverse software for their academic, professional advancements.
Hardeep Singh, of Computer Science & Engg and Coordinator of the Workshop briefed the participants about the thrust area. He pleaded the participants to follow the motto 'Learn, unlearn and relearn', which is of utmost significance in the contemporary world. An earnest endeavour will be made to introduce the participants with various softwares during the Workshop, he said.
 
Avinash Kaur Nagpal, Director, Academic Staff College briefed the profile of the Chief Guest and shared with them the philosophy behind establishing of Academic Staff Colleges by the University Grants Commission for the teachers of higher education in the year 1988.
She enthralled the audience by mixing her address with a few motivating couplets.
