Village Panchayat Gurusar (Mehraj) Honours Angrup Sonam

Ludhiana, July 7, 2017: Gram Panchayat of Village Gurusar (Mehraj) District Bathinda arranged a function to honour Shri Angrup Sonam, Chief Regional Manager, United India Insurance Co Ltd., Ludhiana.

In fact, RO Ludhiana adopted this village under Corporate Social Responsibility Scheme during 2015-16. The main reason of adopting this particular village was that entire population of this village belongs to SC category.

It may be mentioned here that Gurusar Mehraj is the only village in Punjab where the entire residents belong to SC category. Following development activities were undertaken in implementation of this scheme:
• Installation of Solar Lights
• Installation of CCTV Cameras.
• Construction of Staff Room, completion of boundary wall & Floor, Interlocking tiles in prayer ground, Development of Village Park.
• Supply of Tree Guards
• Utensils, Tables, Chairs for Village Community Hall
• White Washing and painting of entire school building.
• Personal Accident Policy to all family heads of the village.

Consequent upon the above developments the village was awarded “Deen Dayal Upadhhyay Panchyat Sashaktikaran Puraskar” by Government of India. Moreover, Punjab Government also awarded first prize to this village under “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”.

Keeping in view unique distinctions conferred on the village, the village panchayat arranged this function to express their gratitude to United India Insurance Co Ltd and honored Sh.Angrup Sonam Chief Regional Manager, RO Ludhiana under whose guidance the entire development projects were carried out.
