VIGILANCE NABS ASI AND PATWARI IN TWO BRIBERY CASES

Chandigarh, July 24, 2017: State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against corruption today nabbed an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) and a Revenue Patwari caught red handed while accepting bribes in two different cases.

Disclosing this here an official spokesman of the Vigilance Bureau said ASI Daljit Singh posted at City -1, Police Station Moga was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Thana Singh Johal of Guru Angad Nagar, Moga. The Complainant has approached the VB that the accused ASI was demanding Rs.5000 to take action on his complaint regarding theft of mobile.

After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused ASI including his agent Tony Singh of village Kotha Guru, district Bathinda were arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs.5000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses

Likewise, a revenue Patwari Narinder Singh Sandhu posted at revenue halqa Badali Alla Singh District Fatehgarh Sahib was also caught red handed accepting bribe of Rs. 4,000/-.

He said that the accused Patwari was arrested on the complaint of Avtar Singh of village Badali Alla Singh district Fatehgarh Sahib as the later has approached the VB that above said accused was demanding Rs. 4000 for mutation of his land.

After verifying her complaint the VB team laid a trap and the accused was arrested and tainted money was recovered from him in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that cases under Prevention of Corruption Act have been registered against both the accused at VB police station Ferozepur and Patiala respectively and further investigations were under progress.
