Kapurthala, October 28, 2014: Vigilance Awareness Week, which coincides with the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, India’s first Home Minister commenced at Rail Coach Factory ,Kapurthala. The week (October 27-November 1) will have several functions & activities to disseminate awareness against corruption and to root out the evil.
The inaugural function on Monday was chaired by Pramod Kumar, General Manager, RCF who administered oath as per the format of the Central Vigilance Commission to all Officers of RCF. Speaking on the occasion, Kumar said that Corruption is a stigma which can be eliminated with the help of technology. He said that Technology involves reduced human intervention and hence digitization of office records, extensive use of CCTV cameras and computerisation of government network at all levels of administration will help to reduce the intensity of corruption in the country.
The message from The President of India and Central Vigilance Commission was read by Prakash Butani, Chief Vigilance Officer/RCF. He also spoke on the significance of Vigilance Awareness Week. Rajesh Gupta, Deputy Chief Vigilance Officer/RCF apprised the gathering on the observation of the week.
A Vigilance Bulletin which focus on “Combating Corruption-Technology as an Enabler”was also released on the occasion.
The week will have a special programme for RCF Supervisors on 28th Oct. followed by a Quiz on vigilance awareness for RCF employees on October 29. To aware the masses, a rally will be carried out by RCF Scouts and Guides on October 31.
Posters and banners have been mounted in several prominent locations to educate about the evils of corruption.
