Ludhiana, January 31, 2015: GGN Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT) organised a fun- filled cultural event to celebrate the end of the winter season and to usher in the springtime, during the gala fiesta of Vasant Panchami here today.

The event began with the anchors Deep Simran of MBA 2nd and Ali Khan of BBA 6th highlighting the relevance of Vasant Panchami. This was followed by a warm welcome of Principal Dr.P.S Khttra and Co-ordinator Prof.Manjit Singh Chhabra. The students clad in yellow attires, the sunny weather and wonderful ambience symbolised Basant, signifying brilliance of nature and the vibrancy of life.

The students then displayed magnificent cultural show that enthralled the audience to the peak. The Punjabi song performances of Prabhjot  Singh(BBA 2), Kuljeet Babbar(BCA 4) and Harmeet Singh (BBA 2) won many hearts. The standup comedy by Gurvinder Singh of BCA 2nd burst the spectators in roars of laughter. The young and vibrant students walked the ramp to display the rich heritage of Punjab during the fashion show. The scintillating dance performance of Anuja of BBA 6th and Ishan Ali of BBA 6th was highly applauded.

The cultural show was followed by a series of one-minute games. Dance to the tune, musical riddles, boys dancing on item numbers and peeling potatoes, girls decorating them with different accessories made up of flowers and straws etc were a great visual delight.

The boys proved their strength and skills during lemon race, three-legged race, sack race, pithu race and many others.

The star attraction of the day was the most awaited inter- class tug of war competition. The team of ten boys of B.Sc. HMCT 4thSemester were declared the winners after undergoing a series of tough rounds.

While the audience were enjoying the fiesta, the judges were keeping a keen eye on the best dressed students.

Navjot Singh of BCA 6th was declared Basant while Mehak Dhir of class B Com. 4th semester was adjudged Basant. Ramanpreet Kaur of MBA 4th was awarded with the Panjaban Award.

Co-ordinator Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra concluded the event by motivating the students to be part and parcel of such celebration as they were an important component of their groomed personality.
