US Doctor gives talk on Cardiology at CMC Hospital

Ludhiana, July 5, 2017: Dr.Umesh N Khot, Vice Chairman, Roberts and Suzanne Tomsich, Department of Cardiovascular Medicine and Chief Quality Officer, Heart and Vascular Institute, Cleveland Clinic, Ohio USA delivered a guest lecture on “Recent advances on heart failure” at hotel Hyatt Regency, Ludhiana on Tuesda.
Dr.Abraham G Thomas, Director, CMC Hospital Ludhiana informed that CMC Ludhiana is looking forward to have long term association with Cleveland Clinic, Ohio USA to provide state of the art treatment to heart patients in the state of Punjab.
Mr. Rajinder Gupta,Managing Director, Trident Groups of industries informed that Dr. UmeshKhot is visiting Ludhiana as a guest of Trident Group of Industries. Mr. Rajinder Gupta has been associated with Cleveland Clinic for over 15 years now. Dr. Khot visit is ably supported by Ms. DeepikaGrandhi, the Cleveland Clinic representative in India.
Dr.Umesh Khot emphasized on the regular use of medications for heart failure patients. He emphasized that if medications are taken regularly then majority of patients with heart failure can avoid having device therapy or Cardiac transplantation. Dr. Khot emphasized on dietary precaution, regular exercise and weight control to prevent development of heart diseases.
Dr. Rajneesh Calton, Prof. & Head, Department of Cardiology informed that the lecture on “Recent Advances of Heart Failure” generated a lot of interest and awareness among the audience. A Large number of doctors and health care professionals from various institutions in the city of Ludhiana attended the lecture.
Dr. UmeshKhot visited CMC Hospital, Ludhiana today (5th July 2017) and gave a lecture on “Heart Attack: Recent Advances in Treatment”. The CMC faculty, medical students and other dignitaries were present and over 300 benefited from the talk.
