The Tibetan government in Exile concern and condolence on earthquake in Mexico

Dharamsala, September 20, 2017: The President of Central Tibetan Administration, Dr Lobsang Sangay expressed his sincere concern and condolence to the people of Mexico over the great loss of lives due to the deadly earthquake that rocked Mexico yesterday. The loss of lives is estimated to be over 200.
In a press statement he said, “My heartfelt sympathy to the people affected by the earthquake. I just visited the great country of Mexico and met generous and kind loving people. My deepest prayer goes out to all the people who have been gravely affected by this disaster. I hope for less casualties and hope that Mexico would soon recover from this tragedy. The Tibetan people stand in solidarity with Mexico.”
Dr Sangay praised and acknowledged the efforts of the people of Mexico coming together in aid of others and also the rescue and relief measures that are underway. He applauded the efficiency with which the Mexican Government and its people are coming and working together in the trying moments.
The CTA president made his maiden visit to Mexico in the first week of September where he addressed the American Regional Meeting of Tibet.
