STF PUNJAB RECOVERS 5 KGS OF HEROIN IN THE AREA OF DT MAL AT INDO-PAK BORDER

· Another STF party recovers 1.450 Kg heroin from across the fence on border
· STF makes a total recovery of 10.5 Kgs of heroin since its constitution
Chandigarh, May 16, 2017: Today, in the area of DT Mal from across the fence at the Indo Pak Border, 5 Kgs of heroin has been recovered by STF, Punjab during the course of investigation in Case FIR No.83, dated 21.04.2017.
Earlier, Paramjeet Singh, S/o Harbans Singh, R/o Kulgehna, PS Sidhwabat was arrested on 21.04.2017 and 500 gms of Heroin was recovered from him and Case FIR No. 83, dated 21.04.2017, U/s 22/61/85, NDPS Act, PS Meharbaan, district Ludhiana was registered. Paramjeet Singh is a Proclaimed Offender in a NDPS case of PS Phillaur and 40 bags of poppy husk was earlier recovered from him.
During the investigation of the above case FIR, another accused Harbans Singh, S/o Tulla Singh, R/o Village Issa Panj Garain, PS Guru Har Sahia, district Ferozepur was arrested on 10.05.2017 and on his disclosure statement 2.5 Kgs of heroin was recovered from across the fence in the area of DT Mal, distt Ferozepur.
This is a case of intensive investigation where starting from the recovery of 500 GMs of heroin all further linkages have been traced and heavy recovery of heroin has been affected along with the arrest of the main smuggler. So far in this case 8 Kgs of heroin has been recovered.
Further investigation in this case is under progress with leads obtained regarding other major drug traffickers.
Besides this, a police party comprising Inspector Sukhwinder Singh No. 1521/BTL, posted in STF, Border Zone, was present along with a police party at Adda Basarke, PS Gharinda, district Amritsar Rural as part of the drive against drugs.
Upon receiving inputs, the above said police party succeeded in recovery of 1.450 Kg heroin from the lift rod of a tractor hidden in the land taken on contract by Jaspal Singh across the fence along the border. Another 100 gm. of heroin (50 gm each) was also recovered from the physical possession of the accused Sukhchain Singh and Jaspal Singh.
A case FIR No. 41 dated 10.05.2017 u/s 21/29/61/85 NDPS Act, Police Station Khalra, Police Commissionerate, Amritsar has been registered against three accused including Sukhchain Singh @ Channa s/o Gurbachan Singh, resident of village Rajoke and Jaspal Singh s/o Sardara Singh, resident of Wa Tara Singh, PS Khalra and Baba Sona s/o Kulwant Singh r/o Mahawa, presently r/o Kot Khlasa, Amritsar. All the accused except Baba Sona have been arrested.
In the drive against drugs and as result of operations carried out by the STF, Punjab since its constitution, a total recovery of 10.5 Kgs of heroin has been made along with the arrest of number of Drug traffickers which has effected a major dent in the supply line of drugs from across the border into the State.
