Special treatment to Ashish Sharma, “the star”?

A set insider sends anonymous texts to Zee TV officials complaining of preferential treatment  offered to Ashish Sharma at the ‘Rab Se Sohna Isshq’ shoot in London

It’s now been 60 days that the entire unit of Zee TV’s love story Rab Se Sohna Isshq has been shooting in London. Wouldn’t it be unnatural to have a unit full of creative people shooting together day in day out without the slightest trace of drama amongst themselves? So, well … drama there is! The latest khabar from London is that there’s a disgruntled set insider who’s been sending anonymous text messages to producer Jay Mehta and Zee TV officials, complaining that actor Ashish Sharma gets preferential treatment on the sets!

Yes! The sender of these anonymous texts clearly harbors a lot of angst against Ashish, saying that the actor does not deserve any ‘superstar’ perks just because he’s an established actor. The text messages crib about how Ashish is constantly pampered, let off early and is scheduled to shoot only post noon such that he can party the night away while the rest slog it out. The petty complainant goes on to rave and rant about how special food is organised only for Ashish and sent to his room. Who could this be now? A co-star? An assistant director? Just somebody who isn’t too fond of him?

Strangely, apart from the time taken to send these daily messages, the number seems to be constantly switched off. As a result, one has not been able to identify the mystery person. While these aren’t threatening messages, the tonality and choice of words is rather immature. Jay Mehta responded saying, “I’m extremely glad to know that the hero of my show is well taken care of. So I’d like to thank the anonymous sender of these messages for the constant updates about his well being! Jokes apart, we believe in taking good care of all our actors and no one should have a problem with Ashish. He’s a humble guy who never misuses his position as the lead actor of our show.”

When asked about these messages, Ashish said, “It’s sad to know that someone on the sets is stooping to these low levels. If the person wants to say something to me, I’d appreciate if he or she had the guts to say it to my face. These under-handed tactics of sending messages to the channel officials and the producer on the sly only speak of the person’s cowardice. But I don’t believe in paying undue attention to such petty people. So, I’m just going to forget about it and do my job!”
