SKILL DEVELOPMENT THROUGH SEED PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY & FABRIC VALUE ADDITION

Ludhiana, July 21, 2017: KVK Samrala organized vocational training on preparation of utility decorative articles at household level (17- 21 July 2017) and Hybrid Seed Production of maize (21-26 July 2017) at KVK Samrala. During this training chief guest Sh. Jaswinder Singh Tiwana, Executive magistrate tehsil, Samrala motivated farmers and farm women to develop strong linkage with KVK experts for skill development and getting awareness about improved Agriculture techniques. He advised farmers to visit the technology park of KVK Samrala. He appealed the farmers to adopt kitchen gardening, soil testing and reading literature.
Dr.S C Sharma, Associate Director, KVK Samrala elaborated on importance of hybrid seed production, make the farmers aware about the PAU recommended varieties and their yield, to adopt soil and water conservation techniques.

Dr.Devinder Tiwari explained different methods of seed production to participants. Dr.Shivani Rana encouraged the trainees to form self-help groups to start their ventures and demonstrated the portable water kits. Progressive farmers also interact with the trainees who are doing seed production of different crops and give tips of seed production during the training. During this Sh. Balwinder Singh, Naib Tehsildar, SAC members Parminder Singh, Paramjit Singh were also present.
