SIX PACKET HEROIN RECOVERED FROM FEROZEPUR SECTOR

FEROZEPUR, June 26, 2017: Six packets of heroin worth Rs.Thirty crore in the international market was recovered by a joint team of Special Task Force (Ludhiana), CI wing Ferozepur and sleuths belonging to BSF in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Dona Telu Mal (DT Mal) in Ferozepur Sector.

B.S.Rajpurohit, DIG, BSF said that keeping in view the vulnerability of Border and heightened activities of smugglers and Anti-National Elements on border, Inspector General BSF Punjab Frontier has issued operational guidelines to all the Sectors under Punjab Frontier for further strengthening the border domination so as to effectively check activities of Anti- National Elements on Punjab border with Pakistan. “Accordingly Field Commanders were given instructions to maintain extra vigil on border to thwart the attempts of Anti- National Elements”, said DIG.

Based on specific information provided by Special Task Force(STF),Ludhiana and CI Ferozepur on 25th June 2017, a special joint search operation was launched ahead of Border Security Fence in area of responsibility of Border Out Post Dona Telu Mal, Ex- Adhoc P-VBn BSF, Sector Ferozepur. During search at about 4.30 pm, 05 packets of contraband suspected to be heroin(weight approx.05Kgs) recovered which were wrapped in white polythene and buried under soil near Bambi(Tube well) in the field. Similarly, at about 8.15 pm, 01 pkt of contraband suspected to be heroin (approx. 01 kg) along with 1 empty Iron bar (Draw bar - length 03 feet) was also recovered from the same area.
