Khanna, October16, 2017: A silent padyatra was organised by Namdhari Darbar under Namdhari Chief Uday Singh in the memory of Mata Chand Kaur who was shot dead on April 4, 2016 by two unidentified persons.
The march was organised for demanding the arrest of the alleged killers.
This padyatra started from Bhaini Saheb in the morning and concluded here after passing through Katanai and Kot Gangu Rai.
As per Dera Spokesman Lakhvir Singh, the Chief of Namdhari Darbar Uday Singh stated that although the Kuka Martyrs had played a big role in freedom struggle yet the day light murder of Mata Chand Kaur is a cause of worry for the sect as the accused are still unidentified and out of police net. He said that they have full faith in investigating agencies but the killers are still unidentified despite forming of SIT and handing over the investigation of this case to CBI.
The marchers demanded immediate arrest of the killers of Mata Chand Kaur without any delay.
Sant Jagtar Singh, Mata Gursharn Kaur, Biba Sahib Kaur, Sant Jai Singh, Sant Manvjit Singh Gill, Sewak Kartar Singh and a number of other senior Dera functionaries and followers of Namdhari Darbar participated in the march.
Commissioner of Police Ludhiana RN Dhoke, when contacted, said that now the investigation of this case is with CBI and they are assisting, providing information and outputs demanded by CBI at intervals.
