Ludhiana, September 11, 2019: The Department of Ophthalmology, CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana is organizing a series of special under graduate and post graduate seminars to mark 125 years of service, education and research by the Institute. The second Master class featured Dr.Parul Ichhpujani, Associate Professor, at the Department of Ophthalmology, Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector-32, Chandigarh. Dr Parul has done her Glaucoma training from Advance Eye Centre, PGIMER, Chandigarh and fellowship from Wills Eye Institute Philadelphia, USA and takes care of the Glaucoma and Neuro-Ophthalmology services at her Centre. The occasion was graced by the “building blocks” of the Eye Department, CMC- Dr.S.K.Chopra and Dr.Richard Daniel. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr.William Bhatti, Director, CMC & H. He encouraged & appreciated the efforts of the Department in organizing this academic session and also in spreading awareness about this dreaded ocular condition. The Guest of Honour, Dr.Jeyaraj D Pandian, Principal, CMCL also spoke on this occasion and reiterated the importance of having regular academic sessions for all the students. Other invitees included Dr.Sumeet Chopra, Professor& Head, Ophthalmology, DMCH, & several eminent faculty members. The sessions were conducted by Dr. Nitin Batra, Professor and Head, Department of Ophthalmology, Professor Rupali Chopra and Professor Gurvinder Kaur, CMC Ludhiana and were attended by over 150 under graduate and post graduate students.
