Seminar on Road Safety and Traffic Rules organised at GNDU

Amritsar, January 21, 2015: A seminar on "Road Safety And Traffic Rules" was organised at Guru Nanak Dev University by the Department of Laws. 

Traffic Marshal Surinder Pal Singh enlightened the students regarding the Traffic rules especially about causes of traffic accidents and the technicalities involved. He also suggested integrated approach in tackling the traffic problems.  He said that India has topped the list of countries where accidents caused maximum deaths. Moreover drunken driving is also the major cause. He stressed that the professional education regarding driving required should be provided before giving licence.

Prof Dr. Viney Kapoor, Head of the Department presented vote of thanks. She said that law students are going to be judges, therefore, there is need to take responsibility of strictly following the road safety measures and traffic norms. Apart from large number of studens, faculty members Harkirandeep kaur, Dr. Renu Saini, Dr Purnima Khanna, Divya Sharma, Dr. Anshu Jain, Dr. Renu Mahajan were also present. / (SK Vyas/Jalandhar)
