School of Humanities and Physical Education lifts overall trophy of CTU Athletic Meet

Ludhiana: The sports ground was filled with zeal, excitement and sportsman spirit as the students and faculty marked its two-day 3rd Annual Athletic Meet organised by Department of Sports. The meet was inaugurated by Charanjit Singh Channi, Chancellor and Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor, CTU.

Students from all the schools participated in various events like 100m race, 200m, 400m race, 800m race, 1500m Race, 3000m, 5000m race, Long Jump, Relay, Shot Put, Tug of War, Discuss Throw and Javelin Throw for both girls and boys. Even the faculty participated in various events.  The day started with full enthusiasm of individual school March Past followed by the oath taking ceremony by Harmanpreet Kaur, who represented CTU in Florida, USA.

The students took the oath in full spirit and displayed immense enthusiasm. School of Humanities & Physical Education lifts Overall Trophy of CTU Athletic Meet. School of Engineering and Technology remains first runner up whereas School of Management and Studies bagged second runner up title.

In 5000m race, for men, the first prize was bagged by Khalfan Said from School of Pharmaceutical & Health Care Sciences and in women category, Jaspreet Kaur and Gurvir Kaur from School of Humanities and Physical Education and School of Management Studies, respectively shared 1st position. Parvinder Singh bags the title of Best Athlete - Men and Jaspreet Kaur remains Best Athlete - Women.

Dr Praveen Kumar, Directorate Sports, said, “Every year through Athletic Meet, we witness a new potential with spirit of sportsmanship. Students put their best efforts in showcasing their talents. The annual meet is a fruitful activity. I congratulate the winners and the participants.”

Manbir Singh, Managing Director and Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor congratulated all the winners and appreciated others for participating actively in this sports meet.
