Satinder Sartaaj Live at Ludhiana on July 26

Ludhiana, July 20, 2017: Ludhiana Sanskritik Samagam (LSS) has hosted Gurdas Maan and Hans Raj Hans on numerous occasions, but somehow, sufi singer Satinder Sartaaj eluded us.

Now on Wednesday, 26th July, in collaboration with Federation of Industrial & Commercial Organization popularly known as FICO & The Times Group, Ludhiana Sanskritik Samagam bringing – Satinder Sartaaj Live at Guru Nanak Bhawan, Ferozepur Road, Ludhiana at 7.30 pm.

Addressing the media persons here today, LSS general secretary SK Rai said Satinder Sartaaj has been in news lately become first ever turbaned Sikh to walk the Red carpet at Cannes. Among others, FICO president Gurmeet Singh Kular was present on the occasion.

The Black Price is slated for release on July 21st where Sartaaj marks his acting debut essaying the role of Maharaj Dupleep Singh. Shabana Azmi plays the role of Rani Jindan.

Satinder Sartaaj’s story is quite inspirational. Born in an ordinary farmer’s household in Hoshiapur, he developed his own style and broke the mould of conventional Punjabi singing. He shot to fame with the hit song Sai, and his popularity has surged since, especially amongst the Punjabi diaspora. He also features in the just-released Shabana Azmi film, The Black Prince, which is based on the last king of Punjab, Maharaja Duleep Singh.

While most folk singers and movie singers in India are not known for their educational qualifications, Satinder Sartaj has gone through the rigours of a formal education, and holds an M.Phil and Ph.d in Sufi music from Punjab University.

Satinder Sartaj’s upcoming Punjabi movie ‘The Black Prince’ which is all set to have its worldwide release on July 21, 2017 this year is taking the Punjabi movie industry by storm already. Satinder Sartaaj who is a renowned face in the Punjabi music industry with his soulful voice and a track record of phenomenal successes achieved through his songs is all set to reveal about.

When asked about what made him do this sort of comeback by portraying the royal character set in the old era of British Raj of the last Sikh Prince of Punjab, Maharaja Duleep Singh, Satinder Sartaj proudly boasts of having an emotional connect with ‘The Black Prince.’ Having a similar body type along with the synonymy offered by Punjabi music enthusiast Satinder Sartaj with his intrinsic shy nature that clicked a big time with what ‘The Black Prince’, Maharaja Duleep Singh in 1800’s had. The Singer even went on to have a rigorous session of learning acting in a Mumbai based acting school to justify the royal character of the most misinterpreted rulers of all times of Punjab, Maharaja Duleep Singh via Punjabi cinema, ‘The Black Prince’ in 2017.
