RANA ASKS GOI TO ENSURE SAFETY OF SIKHS ABROAD

Begowal (Kapurthala), November 6, 2017: Expressing concern over the increasing racist attacks of Sikhs abroad, the Irrigation and Power Minister Rana Gurjit Singh today said that Government of India (GoI) should ensure the safety of the Sikhs in world by raising the issue at appropriate forums.
Interacting with the media persons after inaugurating a hospital here today, the Minister said that these highly condemnable incidents have bruised the psyche of every human being in general and Sikhs in particular. He said that these incident needs to be condemned in strongest words as it was a crime against the humanity as the Sikh Gurus have shown the way of peace, communal harmony and welfare of all to the entire humanity. He said that the Government of India (GoI) must ensure the safety and security of the law abiding members of the Punjabi Diaspora abroad, which have been living in across the globe for decades as most civilized and productive members of the local society.

Answing another query, the Minister said that the future of youth of the state was safe in the hands of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. He said that the Chief Minister would ensure exemplary action against the erring travel agents who were duping the innocent youth.
On another query, the Minister said that the Congress party was all set to form government in the Himachal Pradesh. Rana Gurjit Singh said that he had visited the hilly state yesterday and there was a strong pro-Congress wave in the state. He said that the Congress party would win more than 45 seats in this poll and create history by forming the government.
Replying to another query, the Minister said that law would take its own course in the case of Leader of Opposition and Aam Aadmi Party leader Mr. Sukhpal Singh Khaira.
Earlier, the Minister inaugurated the SPS Global Hospital in the area and said that it would be instrumental in imparting quality health services to the people of this constituency.
The Minister was accompanied by MLAs Mr. Ramanjeet Singh Sikki and Mr. Sushil Kumar Rinku and Congress leaders Mr. Hardev Singh Laddi and Dr. Navjot Dahiya.
