PUTA Executive Council expresses serious concerns over fire broke out in Administrative Block

Chandigarh, May 15, 2017: PUTA Executive Council in its meeting held today expressed serious concerns about the unfortunate incidence of fire that has happened in the Administrative Block on May 14, 2017. All the members have assured full co-operation to the University, whenever required. Keeping in view, the requests made by some of the colleagues that they are willing to contribute financially towards Panjab University, PUTA Executive unanimously resolved:
To request all the colleagues to contribute ‘One Day Salary’ towards the ‘PU Reserve Fund’. For this purpose, the duly filled attached form may be handed over by all the Colleagues to any member of the PUTA Executive, on or before May 22, 2017 so that it may be sent to the concerned office, well in time.
To request the authorities to frame guidelines for utility of this ‘PU Reserve Fund’.
To request the authorities to review the fire safety measures installed in various buildings of PU Campus.
To request the authorities to constitute a high level External Expert Committee to probe the incidence of Fire, in a time bound manner.
