NSS Volunteers Of GKU Contribute For The Communal Harmony Fund

Talwandi Sabo, November 24, 2017: The National Foundation for Communal Harmony (NFCH) under the flagship of Ministry of Youth affairs is observing Communal Harmony Campaign Week from November 19- 25. The last day of this week is celebrated as Flag Day of the Foundation on 24th November. This fund provides assistance to the children rendered orphan or destitute in communal, caste, ethnic or terrorist violence for their welfare, care, education and training and rehabilitation. Many events like poster making, debate, seminar and workshop were organized at Guru Kashi University (GKU). The NSS volunteers (Sumanpreet Kaur, Ramandeep Kaur, Sikander Singh, Sonu Kumar, Dhankirat Singh, Harsimran Singh, Jagpal Singh, Gurpreet kaur, sandeep Singh and Shunty Kumar) collected the donation for Flag Day. The staff and students of the GKU participated in the event and contributed generously. S. Sukhraj Singh Sidhu (Managing Director), Dr. B.S.Dhaliwal (Vice Chancellor), Dr. Jagpal Singh (Pro VC) congratulated the NSS Volnteers for this effort. Dr. J.S.Dhiman (Registrar) told that this fund will be sent to NFCH for the best utilisation. Dr. Amit Tuteja (Director Student Welfare) coordinated the event and expressed thanks to the NSS Students Coordinators for organizing the programme meticulously.
