NOW ESI CONTRIBUTION LAST DATE IS 15TH OF EVERY MONTH

Ludhiana, July 6, 2017: Last date Of Depositing ESI Contribution is now 15th of every month W.E.F 1st July 2017. The concerned gazette notification has been amended whereby the contribution in respect of any employee shall be paid within 15 days of the last day of the calendar month in which the contribution fall due. This shall come into force with effect from the contribution payable for the month of June 2017 i.e. by 15th July 2017 whereas earlier the last date to make ESIC contributions was 21st of every month.

Public Relation Official of ESI Hospital informed that The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation was a pioneer Social Security organization provided comprehensive social security benefits like reasonable Medical Care and a range of Cash Benefits in times of need such as employment injury, sickness, death etc. The ESI Act applies to premises/precincts where 10 or more persons are employed. The employees drawing wages up to Rs.21,000/-a month are entitled to health insurance cover and other benefits, under the ESI Act. The Act now applies to over 7.83 lakh factories and establishments across the country, benefiting about 2.13 crores family units of workers. As of now, the total beneficiary population of ESI Scheme stands over 8.28 crores. Ever since its inception in 1952, the ESI Corporation has, so far, set up 151 Hospitals, 1467/159 Dispensaries / ISM Units, 813 Branch/Pay Offices and 62 Regional & Sub Regional Offices.

ESI Scheme in Ludhiana:
ESI Scheme was implemented in Ludhiana w.e.f. 17.05.1953. Various benefits including cash and medical treatment are being provided to more than 3 Lakh employees working in approximately 11895 Factories/Establishments through its network of one Sub Regional Office, 5 Branch Offices., 13 state run ESI Dispensaries, One 262 bedded Model Hospital at Bharat Nagar Chowk along with super specialty tie up with renowned institutions.
