Meet Bhavin Bhanushali who plays the teenage Gillu in the show Chidiyaghar
Sony SAB’s Chidiyaghar is due for 8 years of leap. The show will see a lot of development post the leap and our character will grow old. Gillu and Gajj will be grown up and changed. The teenage Gillu will be donned by Bhavin Bhanushali. Here is a brief conversation with him on his role as Gillu. How does it feel to be on television with a comedy serial like Chidiyaghar? It feel really good to be part of show which caters to a larger audience. Obviously, Chidiyaghar is a great show for me. The good part is that I had been following this show since the beginning. Everyone in our family loves to watch the shows on Sony SAB. It is my dream show. I feel lucky to be part of it. Why did you choose comedy? Now a days we see a lot of costume drama and I didn’t wanted to get stuck with it. Comedy is challenging where an actor gets to innovate and be creative. As an actor, I know I will get to learn a lot from this show and that’s why I choose it. Has Gillu changed over the period of 8 years? Gillu is a modern guy of today’s generation. He is full of life. He loves to be himself but at the same time he is very upfront and vocal about his thoughts. Younger audience will connect to the character of Gillu. Do you relate yourself to Gillu? I don’t relate directly to the character but there are some common traits. I am a carefree person. I like to speak when it’s wrong. I am not the person who will take wrong things. How do you manage you your studies and acting together? I am studying Bachelors of Mass Media so it’s like I am just applying theory into practicality. We do have some attendance to give so I manage to fit into that quota. My college is very supportive of this and I manage studies along with acting. You’re go to person on set. Ashwin Dhir sir is my go to person. He is so approachable that I don’t feel alien ever. He always encourage us to talk to him whenever we don’t understand anything or we are stuck between scenes. He is that positive person on set who spreads happiness. Tune into Chidiyaghar from 23rd May, Monday – Friday at 8.00pm only on Sony SAB!!
