Khanna,October 12, 2017: Machiwara Police claimed to have solved blind murder case of two missing persons namely Thanjit Singh (65) of village Powat near Machhiwara and Kuldeep Kaur of village Bharola and had arrested three persons including two sons of Thanjit Singh and one of his grandsons in this regard.
The arrested have been identified as Harjinder Singh and Sukhchain Singh both sons of the deceased and Kamaljit Singh grandson of the deceased of village Powat.
The reason behind the killings was illicit relations between the two deceased and two acres of land of the deceased.
Giving further details in a press conference, SSP Khanna NS Mahal informed that the two were missing from 12 October 2016 and a report of their missing was registered at Ropar while Machhiwara Police under SHO Machhiwara Bhupinder Singh was investigating this case with technical ways from several angles.
SSP said that Thanjit Singh was staying at his village Powat and was looking for his land and was also a driver. Thanjit Singh developed illicit relations with one Kuldeep Kaur of village Bharola who was retired peon and they both started living together at village Rangilpur near Ropar.
SSP said that the alleged accused were fearing of transferring of their two acres of land to Kuldeep Kaur by their father and they were also angry that their father was bringing bad name to their family by living with Kuldeep Kaur in elderly days. On October 12 both the deceased had come to Powat in the car of Thanjit and the accused took both in the car and threw them in Bhakra Canal on Sanghol- Bassi Pathana and returned back.
As per SSP, the accused had confessed their crime and the Machhiwara Police had registered a case under Sections 302, 201,34 IPC against the three alleged accused and the police are trying to recover the bodies of the deceased.
