Pune, October 11, 2017: KBD juniors - an inter-school Kabaddi championship conducted by Star Sports across the country received over-whelming response for its Meet and Greet session in Pune. The event was held at Renuka Swaroop School in Sadashiv Peth. Kids from prominent schools such as Bishop’s school, Army Public School, Lexicon International School, Loyola High School, DY Patil Schoool, MES Boys School, Vidya Niketan and Caelum High school were present for the session. Defender duo from Puneri Paltan Dharmaraj Cheralathan & Ziaur Rahman were also present for the meet and greet session. Both Dharmaraj & Ziaur were greeted with a band performance, garland of flowers, traditional Marathi tilak followed by a classical song from the students of Renuka Swaroop School.

All the kids present from over eight prominent schools were really excited to meet and greet the defender-duo of Puneri Paltan. As Dharmaraj & Ziaur entered the school, the little ones chanted their names and cheered for them. A question & answer session was also organized for the kids. The children present there bombarded Puneri Paltan’s players with interesting questions about Kabaddi and their personal interests, which the defender-duo happily answered.

Commenting on the occasion, Dharmaraj Cheralathan said, “I am over whelmed by the love and affection these little kids have shown. It felt great to play with the children, I felt I was a small kid myself. I enjoyed interacting with the children, who have so much knowledge about Kabaddi. Looking at the potential and talent of these kids, I am definitely sure Kabaddi has a bright future in India.”

Post the Q&A session, Dharmaraj and Ziaur played a friendly Kabaddi match with the kids. Dharmaraj and Ziaur played against each other by forming a team of 7 each with the kids present there. Everyone present in the arena cheered for both the teams and enjoyed the match.

Puneri Paltan’s Home leg matches are set to happen at Shree Shiv Chatrapati Sports complex Balewadi from 13th of October till 20th October and Puneri Paltan will be playing its first match against Gujrat Fortunegiants at 8 PM.
