Pune (Maharashtra), April 18, 2017: True to the essence and concept of pure vegetarianism, JW Marriott Pune’s one-of-a-kind specialty vegetarian restaurant – Shakahari, launches today, flaunting a new look and character with a royal twist. Formerly known for its delicious Pan Asian veg- cuisine, Shakahari will now showcase an entirely new theme of #RoyalIndianExperience, presenting a lavish menu based on authentic Indian cuisines inspired from regions of India with royal monarchy. An ever evolving menu will give patrons a chance to indulge in royal cuisines from across the country.

Serving ‘Flavours of India’ on a traditional Silver Thali, Shakahari will offer lip-smacking, authentic Indian Vegetarian Specials from the different princely provinces. Keeping in the mind that no Royal Indian meal is complete without desserts, offering a befitting end to this lavish spread is Shakahari’s new ‘Misthan Bhandar’ which will give patrons a glimpse of what the Indian royal families would traditionally indulge in. Guests can enjoy an array of scrumptious, crafted mithai as well as a variety of fresh cut fruits and sugar free desserts in the ‘Misthan Bhandar’.

This carefully curated experience has been put together by expert Maharaj Jai Kishen, a simple tikka clad chef with over 4 decades in the kitchen and having cooked for some of the biggest names such as Mittals, Birlas and even Lord Swaraj Paul, Jai Kishen’s grounded persona is simply splendid. He mastered the culinary art under the guidance of the very famous Munna Maharaj. Maharaj Jai is the pivoting energy behind this unique concept.

Talking about the launch, Vineet Mishra, General Manager of JW Marriott Pune said, “India is a land of immense geographical diversity, each comprising varied dialects, flavors, spices and regional cuisines that showcase culinary finesse. Food is at the genesis of everything we do at Marriott and we want to revive the culture of food in its most authentic Indian form and that is the philosophy at Shakahari- a royal dining experience, JW Marriott Pune. Keeping this focus, Maharaj Jai Kishen seamlessly blends tradition and flavor for each dish that is specially curated by him.”
