JOIN HANDS FOR PERMANENT SOLUTION OF POLLUTION: BRAHM MOHINDRA EXHORTS POLITICAL LEADERSHIP

LUDHIANA, NOVEMBER 13, 2017: The Health and Family Welfare Minister Mr.Brahm Mohindra exhorted the Political Leadership of the state to join hands with the Government to resolve the persistent pollution problem looming large at the face of the society. It is the need of the hour that politician cutting across the party lines come on joint platform to devise policy to check the pollution menace. Besides, the Health Minister reiterated the resolve of the government to provide quality healthcare services to the citizen of the state. Mr.Brahm Mohindra was in the city to participate in the function organised to distribute Sat Pal Mittal National awards on the occasion of 128th birth anniversary of Mr.Jawahar Lal Nehru, First Prime Minister of the country.

He said that though the pollution index has hinted that the pollution is down in the state as compare to the other states. He quoted the figures of the Punjab Pollution Control Board released yesterday, which indicated that pollution level in the state has decreased by 44% which is welcome state. He said that despite all the efforts pollution has been posing serious problems for the health hazards of the citizens. He said for the permanent solution of the pollution problem all the political parties must join hands cutting across the party lines. The Health Minister also warn Delhi Chief Minister, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal to desist from playing politics on the issue of stubble burning.

Mr. Brahm Mohindra said that the Health Department has been doing day and night to control the Dengue virus and the citizens are being sensitized regularly. Remembering the first Prime Minister of India Mr. Jawahar Lal Nehru, the Health Minister said that it was due to the visionary approach of Mr. Nehru India has become self reliant on food security front. He applauded the efforts of the Nehru Sidhant Kendra Trust for distributing scholarships to the poor and meritorious students. Mr. Brahm Mohindra conferred Sat Pal Mittal National Awards upon Mr. Ravindernath, Mr. Mangu Singh, Mr. Nitin Kumar Nand and Mr. Ashok Chitley for their commendable social service. Besides, the Minister distributed scholarships to poor but meritorious students under annual scholarship scheme.

Speaking on this occasion Mr. Rakesh Bharti Mittal chairman of the trust elaborated upon the various endeavours undertaken by the trust in the field of education, health and other sectors. Mr. Surinder Dabar and Mr. Sanjeev Talwar (both MLAs) and others were present on the occasion.
