Hyderabad: Jayesh Ranjan Principal Secretary, ITE&C Department, Government of Telangana inaugurated Makers Leeway, a high end Robotics Lab for startups and Robotics enthusiasts here in city at Gachibowli. It is the first of its kind of a facility in South India and Second in India.

Srinivas Kollipara of T-Hub and many other players in the ecosystems graced the inaugural ceremony.

Jayesh Ranjan unveiled two products of the H-Bots Robotics startup. He unveiled H-Bots Card which will enable Robotics Researchers to use Research Facilities across India in 40 such labs. We have already tied up with 40 associates across the country informed Kisshhan PSV, the founder of H-Bots Robotics Pvt. Ltd

Jayesh Ranajan also unveiled Design of Police Robot, which H-Bots Robotics is going to come out with by the end of this year. It will be the world’s second humanoid robot after Dubai, Kisshhan declared. The one in Dubai was made in France and deployed in Dubai. But, in this case it will be totally an Indian made humanoid Robot. The prototype will be ready by September this year. We will test it for two months to deploy on December 31st at Jubilee Hills Check post. We will have to finalize those details with Police and the Government, Kisshhan informed.

Giving more details, he said, unlike the Police Robot in Dubai, which moves only on wheels, our robot can walk, recognize people, take complaints and diffuse bombs too. We are building capacity to produce 10 such Private Police Robots which can be private security guards and can be deployed in Hotels, Hospitals and Offices, he informed.

We will be able to produce ten such Robots in a year. And our plan is to make them available at a price of Rupees three lakhs each. So that they are affordable by many, he told. Our dream is to make Hyderabad known for Robotics in the world.

Addressing the gathering immediately after inaugurating it the Makers Space Leeway, Jayesh Ranjan said Government will soon come out with IoT(Internet of things) Policy. Robotics is going to be part of it. “When we launched IT Policy of Telangana State some time ago, we then announced that we would also come out separate policies for ten allied industries of the IT Sector. While we have already come with policies on 8 allied sectors which include Startups, Animation Industry, Cyber Security etc and others, we will announce IoT Policy of Telangana State in next 3 to 4 months. The policy draft is in final stages, Jayesh informed.

That leaves us with T-Works. T-Works is another initiative of the stat, he said and added that the T-Works is for Hardware on the lines of T-Hub. After T-Hub, Telangana plans T-Works to encourage hardware startups. T-Works will act as a prototyping centre for electronics, semiconductors and hardware start-ups he informed. It will be a very large setup. We are scouting for the place. We have already identified a rental place for the same around Gachibowli. Earlier we were planning to set up T-Works at Osmania University and even planned to get it inaugurated during the Centenary Celebrations of Osmania University by the President of India. Osmania University has not yet taken the decision. That is why we are looking at private building now. It will come up at an investment of Rs 50crore and will be ready in next 3 to 4 months time, he said.

Jayesh Ranajan appreciated H-Bots Robotics for setting up Makers Space Leeway, a high end lab for Robotics. This place can accommodate 50 researchers. The facility is first its kind in South India and second in India after one in Delhi.

With atomization, Machine Learning, more and more works will be done by machines. So there will be more demand for Robotics. H-Bots Robotics, which works out of T-Hub has identified the right niche. They will have a lot of future he said.

Makers Leeway is one of the largest product of our startup H-Bots Robotics Pvt. Ltd. It is a personalized lab facility, prototyping solutions, PCB designing etc to individuals, startups and open to every robotics & hardware enthusiast to work on various ideas with a great availability of hardware components and research inventory, informed Kisshhan, Harsha, Abhgishek and Anvesh of the Startup H-Bots Robotics.
