Jalandhar, August 24, 2019: ‘Festivals are characterised by colour, gaiety, enthusiasm, prayers and rituals.’

A special assembly was conducted by the students of Ivy World School on the occasion of Janamashtami, a festival which commemorates the earthly arrival of Lord Krishna.

The students of Grade 3 commenced the assembly with a popular Hindi song “Yashomati Maiya se bole Nandlala”. This was followed by a scintillating dance performance and a play depicting the birth of Lord Krishna.

The audience was also told about ‘Breaking of the pots’ an event where a pot filled with buttermilk is placed at a height and broken by the young lads. The Ivyian family celebrated Janamashtami with great zeal and passion. Beautiful decorations were put up to make this event more cheerful and colourful.Principal Mrs.S.Chauhan appreciated the performance of little Ivyians.
