Ludhiana, October 1, 2012: Senior Citizen Social Welfare Society, Urban Estate, Focal Point, Ludhiana celebrated the International Senior Citizen Day today.
It held a family get together in the premises of Senior Citizens Club that is being constructed for Senior Citizens of Urban Estate and nearby areas of the Focal Point Ludhiana for their social activities by GLADA authorities.
In the function, the GLADA Officers with Chief Engineer being the Guest of Honour, were facilitated with award of honours.
Besides the members whose birthdays fell in September were also presented momentoes.
According to the society president Basant Singh, the Society as per past tradition has assured to hold seminars and health check up camps for various diseases such as Heart, Osteoarthirities and Diabities for initial stages for prevention for members in particular and residents in general by inviting specialists and expert doctors .
He told that the the Society further pledged to work for Go-Green India and for pollution free environment.
