INCOME TAX DEPARTMENT ORGANISES SEMINAR ON TDS

Ludhiana, September 26, 2016: The Income Tax department organised a seminar regarding TDS at the Dumra Auditorium of Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, here today. This seminar was addressed by Dr Tarundeep Kaur, Additional Commissioner Income Tax, TDS Range, Ludhiana, Dr Gagan Kundra, Deputy Commissioner, Income Tax (TDS) Ludhiana, Mr Vasudev Sharma, Income Tax Officer, Mr Sudesh Kumar Inspector, Mr Piyush Jain, Chartered Accountant, besides several others. This seminar was attended by DDO's of all departments besides representatives of all city hospitals and nursing homes.
Dr Tarundeep appreciated the high number of participation in this seminar and spoke in detail about the new provisions of TDS added in the Income Tax Act. She said that it becomes the duty of all DDO's to deduct TDS and deposit it on time and file Income Tax returns. She said that the failure of which attracts hefty fine along with a provision of penal action. Dr Kundra stressed that the record of all returns should be duly maintained.
