Haryana News/ India’s first Heritage Transport Museum in Mewat district

New Delhi/Bilaspur (Haryana), December 8, 2013: Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Saturday inaugurated India’s first Heritage Transport Museum at Bilaspur-Taoru Road in district Mewat. The museum depicts development that has taken place in modes of transportation over the years. It has been set up by Heritage Transportation Museum Trust over an area of three acres.
Hooda also went around the museum where various modes of transportation were exhibited including models of cart with wooden wheel, camel cart, bagghi, bicycle, rickshaw, old scooters, tram, train, helicopter and aircrafts.  
While appreciating the initiative of founder Tarun Thukral, the Chief Minister said that he has developed  with hard work and research. Various models of transportation were presented in an attractive and interesting manner. It would be helpful in providing important information about changes in means of transport. He said that Jhajjar also have a unique museum of manuscripts.
He said that our country has a very rich cultural heritage. Our civilisation and culture was very much developed during Mahabharta times. We are moving forward while learning from old rich civilization.  Apart from Union Ministry of Culture, which has provided full support for museum construction, he said that Haryana Government had also given support for whatever was demanded and it the support would continue in future.
He hoped that people from different parts of the country would come here to see the museum and it would become very popular destination for tourists.
