Chandigarh, April 3, 2017: The Haryana have won 28th Senior National Circle Kabaddi Championship for men and women at Punjab University, Chandigarh today.

Giving details Narinder Singh Kang , Senior Vice President of Amateur Circle Kabaddi Federation of India and International Sports Promoter said that Haryana girls’ team defeated Punjab team by 45-19 in an one-sided match. Ratna and Aarti both raiders from winning team led from the front and were well supported by Roshni and Sangeeta both stoppers.

For Punjab, Sukhveer Kaur and Rajni both raiders tried their best to keep fight on but at the end it was Haryana which lifted the title.

Earlier in day in semifinals , Haryana girls’ team thrashed Chandigarh team in an one -sided match by 26-8. Whereas Punjab outclassed Delhi by 23-5.

In boys’ title Haryana out-powered Allied team by 30-12. For winning team , Ravi and Sheelu the raiders kept on making successful raids with support from Parveen and Anil the stoppers. For Allied team their raiders Lucky and Bacchi tried their best but could not match their rivals.

Earlier in boys’ semifinals, Haryana outplayed Chandigarh by 29-17 and Allied Team got better of Punjab by a narrow margin of 27-24.

Padma Shri, Seechewal Balbir Singh Seechewal was chief guest today .

Among others , Ram Bilas Sharma, Minister for Education & Tourism, Haryana, who is also President of ACKFI , Ajit Balaji Joshi, DC Chandigarh, Davinder Singh Bajwa, International Sports and Culture Promoters and Prof JP Sharma , General Secretary of ACKFI were also presented.

Seechewal and Ram Bilas Sharma gave away prizes to the winners. Ram Bilas Sharma announced Rs. 11,000 for each player of title holders and runners-up.

Meanwhile the championship was organized by Amateur Circle Kabaddi Federation of India (ACKFI) along with Baba Gazi Dass Club ( Regd.), Ropar. The 16 teams of boys and 10 teams of girls from different states including Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidharbha, Maharashtra, Odisha, Karnataka, Bihar, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Pudducherry took part in the championship.
