Jalandhar, September 22, 2015: A Guest Lecture was organised on Monday by the Department of Punjabi of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar in which Dr.Tajinder Kaur, Head, Department of Punjabi, Guru Nanak Dev University, Regional Campus, Ladhewali, Jalandhar was the resource person.  The lecture was on the beliefs and traditions of Punjabi people and the reasons that gave rise to these cultural practices that are being handed down from one generation to the other. She said that even though the Punjabis have continued with these traditions but they are unaware of the logic that governed the origin of these rituals and practices. She also discussed the different folklores of Punjab.  Dr. Tajinder Kaur's lecture was an eye opener for the audience that comprised faculty and students of the college. Principal, Dr. Sucharita said that these lectures connect us with our traditions and we gain a deeper insight into our own culture which is the need of the hour.
