• Federation of Punjab Small Industries Associations strongly opposed the present bill passed by the parliament on GST.
• The present GST is anti SSI & against the poor of India.
• Government calls it single country single tax but actually there are three laws in one law and there are three taxes. (CGST,SGST,IGST)
• It’s not a simple law, and more than 25 returns are requires to be filed by an assessee.
• The assessee will have to file return on 10th of every month for previous month.
• The present thrash hold limit for MSME is 1.5 crore in Central Excise whereas in GST it’s just 10 Lacs.
• This may impact in increase of bicycle prices by 200 to 300 rs, sewing machine and unbranded garments by 10%.
• As per law the filing of return under this law should be online and presently the internet is present in just 20% areas of India.
• The small traders and manufacturers having sales between 10lacs to 50 lacs can’t afford full time accountants and online system
• This will merely increase the revenue of the government and will increase the corruption.
• In Punjab the bogus billing was made by the bogus companies just for 4% invoices and the innocent companies are suffering and who will assured the invoices having 18% tax.
• The present format of GST is against industry. it will increase the inflation, the unlimited powers are given to the officers under this act.
• They can arrest any person and can detain upto 24 hours, even can raid the office business or residence premises and on roads.
• For the minor mistakes the provision for imprisonment is upto 5 years. these powers will make the officers corrupt,
• This will make the travel and insurance services costly, and the act is strict for exporters too.
• On the whole the present format of GST is against MSME and will lead to increase corruption and inflation.
