Governor and CM mourn death of Ravinder Randev

Shimla, July 2, 2017: Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh have mourned the sad demise of veteran Journalist Shri Ravinder Randev, who died here this morning due to cardiac arrest. He was 82 years old. He was active in the field of journalism for more than 45 years. Shri Randev is survived by wife Tripta Randev, daughter Dr. Shivani, son-in-law Dr. Sunil and two grandchildren.

Governor Acharya Devvrat in his condolence message to the bereaved family said that Shri Randev was a thorough professional and a noble soul. He also prayed to the Almighty to grant peace to the departed soul and strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss.

In his condolence message, Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh has conveyed deep sympathies with the bereaved family members and prayed to the Almighty for peace of the departed soul. He said that Shri Randev was a committed journalist, who always maintained professionalism. He said that his demise has created a void in the field of journalism.

Information and Public Relations Minister Shri Mukesh Agnihotri has also mourned the sad demise of Shri Randev. In his message to the bereaved family, Shri Agnihotri said that sudden demise of Shri Randev has come as a great shock to him as he has a long association with him during the days of journalism.

After serving in education department for more than a decade, Shri Randev joined active journalism in 1972 and started his career as staff correspondent with Vir Pratap. He also worked with Jansatta, Dainik Tribune, The Indian Express, PTI and Uttam Hindu.

He was very active, punctual and never missed any potential news. He also remained associated with National Union of Journalist, Indian Media Centre and other media organizations.
