GOLF COURSES IN GURGAON preferred destination for golfers of world

Gurgaon, February 10, 2013: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said that Haryana has best of Golf Courses and it has become preferred destination for the Golfers of the world.

Hooda was speaking at the prize distribution ceremony of Haryana Golf Association Open Tournament in Gurgaon today. He stressed upon bringing golf within the reach of common people and lauded the effort of Haryana Golf association for promoting golf. He said that though he is not a good player of golf, yet being a player he felt happy when sports were promoted.

He said that Gurgaon today needs affordable housing and affordable golf courses so that more players could play this game. He felt that otherwise Golf is a costly game. Referring to the proposal moved by the Haryana Chief Secretary P K Chaudhary, Hooda assured of all help in promotion of golf in the state. He appreciated the vision of Chaudhary who had suggested that if the government supported, the Haryana Golf Association was ready to open nurseries of golf in other parts of Haryana and then the day would not be far when the Haryana players would bring laurels to the state and the country as they were doing in other games.

The Chief Minister was also included in the board of members of Haryana Golf Association today. Vice Chairman of DLF Rajiv Singh also lauded the initiative of opening nurseries put up by Haryana Golf Association and said that this would promote golf as a sport.

Another speaker S C Shekhar also advocated to open golf nurseries saying it is in line with the sports policy of the Haryana government.

Among others, Principal Secretary to CM Chattar Singh, Chief Secretary P K Chaudhary, State Information Commissioner Naresh Gulati, Senior IAS Officers D S Dhesi, Rajiv Arora, CPS Anita Yadav, MLA Rao Dharampal, Ex-MLA Major Narpender Singh Sangwan, Commissioner of Police K K Sindhu and other officers of district administration were present.
