GNDU sports personnel honoured

Amritsar, May 20, 2015: Ranjeeta student of Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) Department of Physical Education (Teaching) of Guru Nanak Dev University represented Country in Senior Indian Judo (W) team for Asian Judo Championship held at Qatar recently. She is also selected for Grand Prix Judo Championship (qualifying round for Olympics) being held at Belarus in 70 kg category during next few months (only Judokas selected in this wt.category).

Earlier, she got silver medal in National Games-2015 held at Kerala from March 10-14, 2015, gold medal in All India Inter-University Judo (W) Championship held at University Campus, Amritsar from 30 January to 1 February, 2015 and bronze medal in Sr. National Judo (W) held at Haridwar in December, 2014.

Ranjeeta was honored by the university in the Department of Physical Education (A.T.) by  Amarjit Singh Sidhu, Dean Student’s Welfare alongwith  H.S. Randhawa, Deputy Director Sports & Head for her exellcelent achievement.  Sukhdev Singh, Head, Department of Physical Education (Teaching) was also present. On this occasion,  Amarjeet Singh Sidhu and other dignitaries motivated and appreciated her efforts. / (SK Vyas,)
