GNDU Research Scholar selected for Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral Fellowship

Amritsar, October 31, 2014: Anita Hastir, Ph.D student of Physics department of Guru Nanak Dev University working on ‘Zinc oxide nanoparticles and their application as gas sensors’ under the supervision of Prof Ravi Chand Singh has been awarded grant from Fulbright-Nehru doctoral fellowship for a period of nine months.
Through this program she will get an opportunity to work at University of Delaware, Newark, DE, US, starting November 1, 2014. Anita Hastir, gold medalist in her master degree enrolled Ph. D. program under Inspire fellowship in 2011 and carried her research work at ‘Sensors and Physics Education laboratory’.  
Recently two research scholar from this laboratory, Dr. Onkar Singh and Dr. Manmeet Pal Singh joined Universities at Canada for their post doctoral research work. The major research area of this laboratory is ‘synthesis of metal oxides, polyaniline and graphene based nanostructures for gas sensors’ and ‘Experiments for physics education’.
