52 schools participate in Tarang at CT University
Ludhiana, November 17, 2017: More than 2500 students participated from 52 different schools in Tarang, an inter-school competition organised at CT University. This two-day fest is organised for the students across the region to showcase their skills in various fields like dancing, singing, poster making, rangoli, quiz, mehandi, budding chef, pot painting, flower arrangement etc.

The event saw huge participation from different schools including Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town, Spring Dale Senior Secondary School, GTB Jamalpur, Sanatan Vidya Senior Secondary School, CT Public School, Jalandhar, Malwa Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Saffron Public School Phagwara, Shivalik Model Jagraon, Holy Heart School, Ajitwal etc.

The overall trophy was bagged by Guru Nanak International Public School and Atam Devki Niketan School.

Students bagged various other prizes as well. The first prize for group dance was bagged by Spring Dale and second was won by Dev Samaj Girls School. The first position for rangoli making was bagged by R S Model School and second by International Public School. Swami Roop Chand Jain bagged first prize in mehandi competition and second was won by Spring Dale. The first prize for LAN Gaming was won by Guru Nanak International Public School and second was bagged by Sri Guru Ram Rai School. For collage making, the first prize was won by Atam Devki and second by Dev Samaj Girls School. The first prize for Pot painting went to Sri Guru Ram Rai and second by Baba Chand Singh. For flower arrangement, the first prize bagged by Saffron Public School and second by Atam Devki. For Quiz, the first prize was won by GNIPS, and second by CT Public School.

The day saw mesmerizing dance performances of various styles like classical, Indian and western etc along with solo singing etc. The students made beautiful mehandi in one of the competitions along with pot making.

Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, CT University said, “We have organised this festival for the very first time in our university campus. The response has been great where so many schools participated and came along with their teachers. Our Tarang fest will be concluded with inter-college competition. This two day fest will be a great learning for the students of young age. Through these events students learn the art of being self-reliant and develop a kind of competitive spirit of winning which in turn help them in facing the biggest challenges in their professional and personal life.”

S. Charanjit S Channi, Chancellor, CT University appreciated and congratulated the efforts of the students and the faculty for organizing all the events smoothly. He further added that this two day fest will help the students to get hand full of experience and loads of confidence on being on stage and mentioned that the vision behind fest was to make young boys and girls wear confidence as their armor as it’s a great platform for them to showcase their hidden talent.
